Not a fan of using a Kreg jig. Mortising will hold 100% better over the long run. Yes, 10x the work. Very sharp chisels are a must.
Hey, I'm old school.

And plenty of glue
When using pocket screws this is essential. I think of pocket screws as more of an alignment and holding system while the glue sets.

May have a better chance with antiquing it.
I agree fish. I have a kreg jig and use it but if I’m putting in work for something nice that I want around for a long time, I’ll do m/t

I already had the kreg jig.
But I went out and got a planer, jointer, and biscuit joiner to complete the set.

Those are the main tools you need for wood working. On your joiner, wax the top real good will auto wax. You will thank me later.

I need to get one of those rollers you have pictured on this page. Edge joining an 8 foot 2x10 is a pain in the arse.

Get two, one for in feed and one for out feed. Great to use on a planner and table saw too! Harbor Freight is were I picked it up. The one in the picture is easy 10 years old.
Oh, finished the door I been working on.

Thanks man. It’s the first thing I REALLY took my time on. Legit 8+ hours of sanding overall. I can’t stand sanding

Thanks. I would have preferred brown but they have more of a black/grey toned color scheme in their home.

Hey Pep, got it in, just healing up now.

Yesterday, did a little iron work for the closet door and today I hung it.
Still have to hang a live edge board that will cover the cross tracking system. Will get that done maybe tomorrow.

Still have two more doors to build. Was looking over my stock and I don't have enough 2x6's.
So now I have to fell a dead standing oak, saw up on the sawmill and let it dry a couple months.
