If you sell it for $400-500, how much profit do you make off that?

With the price of good lumber, it must be difficult to make money doing this as a hobby?

Thanks man. I'm just using the best yellow pine i can find. I've probably got $80 in it.

And probably 8-10 hours of work. Which is at least $1000 worth of labor.

I just made the same table for less than a hundred bucks. All from construction grade lumber

I just saw your headboard. Looks great. How are you going to connect the Headboard to Footboard?

where? Firewood sized?

Yep, you would have had to cut it to length and split it though. It was 5 acres of hardwoods and they stacked all of the oak trunks to haul away. It's all gone now and the rest is piled up and been burning since Friday so it's too late. It's on Pinhook right at Broussard city limits.

This thread is the shite.... Nice work guys.. Started a thread the other day about building a shop because my desire to build stuff is through the roof.

Just curious what you guys work out of? Would love to see the various setups...

I have a 12'x20' shed/workshop that I'm setting up. Right now my tablesaw is under the carport till I get power ran to my workshop. You don't need much to get started.

I just started this hobby a few weeks ago. I'd say as long as you have a good table or two you're good to go. You can pretty much have everything on the ground as well which I still do a lot. Not used to bending down and standing up so much . Here's a table I built for my miter saw:

Next on the agenda as far as setup goes would be making an outfeed table for my table saw.

The plans for that miter saw table are here if you're interested:

DIY Miter Saw Table

I tweaked the plans a bit to fit my saw obviously, but it was pretty easy. Just start cutting and building! It's addicting

In my garage next to my wife's brand new crv. She doesn't care for that too much.

Just finished this light fixture for the outdoor kitchen build that is still in progress.

Made of sinker cypress and mason jars.

I have 2 x 10 rails cut with a 2x4 runner on the inside to serve as the base for the slats. It's a king bed so I have one down the middle as well. I bought several brackets to figure out which will work the best, I'll likely use some sort of bracket/pocket hole combination.

I got it all sanded tonight and will have it stained and put in the room this weekend. I'll post more pics.

Side note, Amazon sent me the wrong mattress and I called to get the correct one. They said keep it, the right one is on the way.

Say what now? Lol.

That's pretty awesome. You going to sell the extra one?

Either sell it or keep it in the guest room.
