Paintball gun/marker to the face.

Lights em up pretty good.

Also marks them to show their owners what 'tards they are for not keeping their animals in check.

OP said everybody lets their dogs roam the neighborhood. Doesn't really sound like anyone is responsible at all over there. How could you hold the pup in contempt if the rest of the neighborhood is lax in their discipline of their animals?

Depends. If said owner decides to build a chicken coup in a neighborhood with no leash laws. Then he is asking for trouble if he doesn't build a fortress. If my dog was going to great lengths to get to his chickens, I would correct my dog. FWIW, I go to great lengths to keep my dogs outta people yards, but occassionally a dog is a dog and gets out. My neighbors know it's muuuuuuuch better to let me know than to take action into their own hands.

Why don't you have them pay to replace your chicken?

It was like 5 bucks. I didn't want to deal with it.

Crazy thing is now my dog does not want to come inside. She sits by the coop protecting the two remaining chickens. But she didn't see the dog kill one of them. Weird.

The rest is not breaking and entering coup to eat chickens. Again if he catches it in the act of killing I see no problem with taking dog out, not an assassination after the fact.

This guy is talking about burning his house down cause he protected his chickens from a dog. Is arson charge worth that?

Plus, you're kinda baiting the dog. You kill my dog in this situation and I promise you will lose all your chickens, any dogs you have and maybe your house. Never know who you're f$%kn with

You as a the owner of the dog, are responsible for what that animals does. And if it was brought to your attention and you did nothing then the only real person for you to get pissed at is yourself.

I don't mind dogs coming into my yard. When they work their way into my coop and kill my chicken is when I have a problem. Hey, it happens once, that's what dogs do. No big deal. But now that the owners know about it, it's up to them to correct the problem. Right? If my dog starts pissing off the neighbors, I lock her up.

I guess we will find out if these owners are good people or not.

Which he should. A coon will break in easier and kill more chickens than any dog would. Or even a cat may get in there and do damage.

A country guy would be like,"I'm sorry you had to shoot my dog for killing your chickens."
.

Reminds me o when my uncles had there dairy and a neighbors dogs got in and killed a couple bottle fed calves. He went to there house and told them to watch there dogs a little closer. He offered to pay for replacement but uncle wouldn't take it. The man stepped inside and got his shotgun, called his dogs from in pasture and killed all 3 when they came under fence. Told my uncle he was sorry and they wouldn't bother his cows again. My uncle was kind if taken off guard by the whole situation

It was in the damn coop. Yes, it was not fully secure. No other dog, cat, snake, squatch, or hawk has bothered them. Only this dog. happened once...no big deal. Happens twice...owners of that dog sucks.

I disagree in this situation. If you knowingly have free ranging chickens in a neighborhood full of dogs and no leash laws. Don't get butthurt when they get smoked. Have issues with a new neighbor now that just moved into our'hood. We've all been getting along fine for 10+ yrs and everyone knows everyone elses dogs, cats etc. Now he wants to be a dick about things. Things are not gonna turn out well for this douche if he wants to keep abusing our hospitality.

Coop very secure at night when most critter are on the prowl. I just need to tighten up security during the day.

Free range chickens means in a coop?

My dad almost did the same thing one day. Our cur killed a calf in a neighboring farm(a mile away). But dumbass dog got killed on highway coming back from crime scene. You didn't get many chances with my dad.

Depends, I've seen people call a laying house a coop. If its all fenced in and the dog has to dig in then it's the dogs fault. But if you leave the gate open. You're just asking for trouble. I have shock collars on all mine outta respect for my neigbors, but sometimes one of my hardheads will still get out.

Hey man I'm on your side. It's your property and your chickens.

It's just more a public relations nightmare than it was years ago in the farming community. In the old days livestock was livelihood. No exceptions when fifi killed something. Now dogs have more rights than people.
