I assume that's what she was offering. She asked what do they need to do. She didn't say, "Hey, can we buy you another chicken?"

Did you see the dog kill a chicken? I had a murder in my coop one time but it was another chicken that was the killer.
Maybe this was addressed, but why isn't your coop secure? A coon will get in there and slaughter all of them if a dog could get in?

People shoot dogs for merely chasing deer that don't belong to them. Death sentence for this dog is a no-brainer. If the owners don't understand, just link them to this board.

At this point, I think your best bet is to put up a chain link fence around your yard. To shoot this dog will cause you more problems than it is worth.
I don't like this, but enough years on this earth has taught me to never say anything to a negligent dog owner, or say anything about a problem dog to anyone else.
Let it slide one or two times (anyone can have a lapse here and there). However, if a consistent pattern, pop it in the haunch with a .22 CB. It doesn't really hurt the dog much, but the owner will have to pay a vet bill to have it removed.
May have to do it a second time. After that, the negligent owner is usually trained to control their dog. Vet bills hurt.
Sucks to do it that way, but that's the position the system and irresponsible owners put you into.

I have stated over and over I'm not going to shoot this dog unless he is aggressive to me or my family. People just aren't taking the time to read the thread.
