Find the habitat find the birds... They fly at night and migrate south following the rivers. They eat worms and can typically be found in the following types of cover. Think moist but not wet ground. Sometimes near rivers and bayous. Sometimes open woods, sometimes thick cover. Here are some photos...

On a side note, have any of you had your dogs snake trained? Know of anyone that does it?

I had mine done years ago with the South Louisiana Visla Club, (SLVC) I am no longer a member and don't know if they still do it. I think it made my dogs hate snakes more...

Thinking about trying the bonnet carre for snipe this season. Read mixed reviews on using the dog.

they need to be holding in the ditches or taller grass for dogs to work... cloudy windy days

He was about 5 months in the first pic. Watching the cat on a fence.

About 9 months now in the second pic. That was him posing this morning. Sit and stay is the only chance to get a pic of him with my phone.

I think they got 4 limits one day when all was right
