shite mine will retrieve if and ONLY IF he freaking feels like it. I can't do anything about it other than try to force retreive him or send him off to a camp.
Mine just wants to freaking point all day and hunt live animals.

Typical and smart, who the frick wants to pick up a dead bird when you can go find more live ones. It is like retrieving is beneath them...

it works out great when we hunt with his GSP and my dog they cover more ground much faster and they all are great at honoring each others points and after the shot my dog wants the Bird, so she goes and gets it and they go on hunting we pick up catch up. But his younger pup picked up on this and by the end of the day the younger dog got competitive and started retrieving worked out great now he has a perfect pair. got them from a dude in Kansas..

dont really know I bought a new car in bozeman and me and the hound are flying out to pick it up and drive back so i am going to fish and hunt prob a week to 10 days.

Sounds like a great trip, but I can't imagine flying with my dog, his gear and mine. I have been to Kansas a couple of times, just me and the dogs, and my truck was filled to the brim for a week of hunting...

i know the dog has more crap then i am taking. I normally would not fly my dog and i might not depending on the forecast if not then i will just trout fish i cant see myself hunting with out my dog.

Drop the German Shorthair and add Team GSP or Team Shorthair...

Not a fan of the leg lift on that one. Needs some more rigidity!
But I do like the concept.

I've seen a guy in BR that is training a GSP for ducks. I'm sure they can do it, but they love to run so much that I'd imagine they'll get restless in a blind.
The main reason why I got this one in particular was b/c the parents and several dogs from the previous litter b/w te same parents duck hunted. Mine loves him some water. When I was in MS we would go to the beach a couple times a week with him and he would retrieve all day out of the water if I asked him to.

My boy is 8 months. He comes in with his head down and constantly hits my knee with his head. I want to beat the shite out of him. His head is hard as concrete.

Mine oldest LOVES the water. The neighbor is always concerned that he is going to drown he stays out swimming so long...
