If he is a good friend, clean them up good and put them up for him. One day, he would wish he had them back.

Thanks Fish. He is a good friend I have known for about 20 years. I posted on this board because I know we have some knowledgable folks here when it comes to guns. I never expected anyone to suggest he is a moron, murderer and thief.

Not reading the whole thread but one day your friend might want his stuff back to give to his kids.

Just keep that in mind

So now he is defenseless to protect his kids. Nice. Sounds like a liberal victim.

Guy doesn't want his guns anymore, gives them to a friend - crucified.

Friend wants to donate fair value to charity - crucified.
I don't recall the OP getting crucified for wanting to donate money to a charity. The only thing we are bashing is the moron friend.

Things just aren't adding up. Hence my post that you didn't respond to:

quote:

If he isn't a moron, why is he just giving away guns? Kids are not an excuse to just give away guns.

Valid excuses are:

Guns were used in a crime
Guns were stolen
Has a violent relationship with wife
He has bi polar disorder mixed with schizophrenia
He is a raging alcoholic and has had a bad history with violence when drunk
He is suicidal

Those are reasons in which I wouldn't call your friend a moron. Any other reason, he falls into moron category

Not reading 5 pages this late at night, but you said ALL his guns. You only describe ONE gun in the OP

Still waiting to hear the rest as well.

How old are these kids? Are they reform boot camp type kids say 14 ish?
Still doesn't make sense, just take them to someone with a safe for storage if he is scared of his kids killing him with them.
Liberal guilt then?

He suddenly decided he did not want guns in the house because of his kids.

Have a serious talk with him. He could have sold a few and then bought a safe. I was close to a situation in which a fella up and moved all of his guns to his dads house and made up some excuse. Out of the ordinary for him ans came to find out he was severely depressed and suicidal and didn't trust himself with guns in the house. Thought he was going to freak out and lose it. Ended up being some bad arse side effects from some medication he was on caused it. I'd calmly talk to him and maybe drop a few hints to make sure he's OK.

That was also weird. He waited until someone answered a value to his first gun before he moved onto the next
