Paddle!!!!

Power poles, trim tabs, fish finder, ect. are nice but have a break down and run out of trolling motor battery and you may spend the night on the lake ifn you don't have a paddle.

Oh yeah, an extra plug and perhaps an extra prop and a fire extinguisher and a life jacket and even a piece of rope.

I aint as seasoned as Geauxt but in 40 some odd years on the water in all kinda equipment, lots of bad stuff has happened. Those items I've mentioned can help keep you warm, dry and alive.

If your boat is 22-24 ft bay boat and you even think about taking it for light off-shore action (10-15 Miles), I would say that an investment in an EPIRB would be wise as well.

Whistle/ air horn
Lighter or magnesium striker
Gerber/ multi tool
Spare spark plugs, fuses, trolling motor prop, and plug.
Depending on where I am going, I keep a change of clothes in a vacuum pack.
Bull frog sunscreen/ skeeter spray.

Always, always, always have plenty of beer.

It's worth $2k for you to not toss a pipe in the water as opposed to pushing a button?

All these other anchors work well, but don't compare to the PP. Being able to stop the boat with the push of a button is great. It's quiet with no fuss or throwing muddy anchors around the boat and beating your shite up. Imagine how the fish feel about hearing a heavy arse anchor dropping into the water and the chain vibrating the hull. Yeah, it's a one trick pony, but it's great especially if you're fishing by yourself and trying to be quiet.
