The few offshore fishing trips I've been on, we always had music and beer a flowing.

Nope. I wouldn't recommend repeatedly dropping things in the boat though.

If you can't break away from the music while enjoying nature you have a problem. Urban Angler!

If you wanna go that route then being in a boat wearing clothes and sunscreen wouldn't be "nature" then.

Fishing is a social event IMO

Hunting is all about the "nature"

I have a radio in my boat. Only listen to LSU baseball games on it though. So...yeah. Bass like the listen to LSU sports.

Here's my deal...when I'm outdoors fishing or whatever I need to hear what's going on around me. It better tunes me with my surroundings which creates a better focus and helps tune me in to becoming one with the environment. Music is a distraction in that aspect. I can hear that in my car or house.
That's just my opinion though. To each his own. You can wear skirts, too, while you're out there listening to music!

I remember the days where u couldn't even talk while fishing...."I'd scare them off!" Old timers are still funny about that.

based on previous posts and your avatar pic I cant help but find this hilarious.

FWIW, we should all enjoy the outdoors however we like. I dont need music when I am fishing, and sometimes it would hinder me from hearing busting schools. On the other hand, a little music mid day when the fishing gets slower is nice sometimes.

Till the day my grandfather died I remember him always talking about this. He was old school and thought it should be quiet when you fish. My dad and he would have their boats parked near each other fishing for reds or specks. His boat was quietly fishing.

My dads boat had a radio playing, me (as a young lad then) dropping things all over the boat, stirring the water in front of me with the tip of my rod, my younger brother hitting the water with the paddle for the fun of it, my mom fussing at us to stop, and also a hundred other noises.

And my dad would catch more fish than my grandpaw. That would piss him off. I could still hear him saying “How the hell is he catching all those fish with all that noise.” It still cracks me up to this day.
