gave up on cleaning reds with electric knives years ago. It's just way too much bullshite to save

I use a blade and either cut around the ribs or do the pull method. Doesn't really take that much longer.

This is mine, 18V Milwaukee Filletzall. It’s a freaking beast.

Never knew they made a filet blade for a sawzall.

Now I’ll love my sawzall even more

Bought mine at Academy on Friday. They have the 2 blade set for $99. Bass Pro only has the 4 blade set for $129. These are the corded models. I don't trust a battery powered unit to last very long. Plus I always have an outlet to plug in to so no big deal. The teeth on the Bubba Blades are insanely large and sharp. I cleaned big reds and big Snapper this weekend with mine and it breezed thru them.

Did you have any issues with heat on your knife hand? Mine gets hot AF after some reds and sheep (though does a good job with them).

i did not but i have read some people are experiencing heat. These are the first run models of an all new knife. I'm sure BB will modify them later on to eliminate the heat issue you're talking about.

Neighbor down da street is a ME and has a bad arse metal shop man cave. Walking down the street I saw the shop door open so I stopped by to say hello he was fiddling with something on his bench that turned out to be a recip saw that he ahd mounted a long fillet blade on. Said he was tired of burning up knives on Big red fish. He took the blade off a burned up one and mounted it to a jig to fit his saw. A couple weeks later he said it took a learning period but now he loves it and says its a real hawg

It's just a Dexter Russel serrated blade notched to fit sawzall reciprocating saws. People were doing this to DR blades well before Filetzall marketed them.

I also have the Bubba corded model. I usoit one time on smaller reds, drum, and sheepshead. It worked fine but I found the trigger was very hard to depress. I used it again at home to cut up some chicken wings for the fryer. I figured out issue with the trigger was with the trigger lock button. Works fine now and breezed through the chicken wing joints. Can’t wait to use it again on the fish.

I watched a guy cut two fingers off with one trying to learn it.
Like did he cut one finger off, not learn his lesson, and then go back for more and lop another one off?

If so, I do not want that guy managing my money or valuables. But I would love to have him if I am ever in a foxhole

I bought a Filetzall and it scared the shite out of me. I put it up for now. I'll try it again another day.
