Hiking in Glacier Montana on one of the trails where it is an incline to your right and a big drop off to your left and had a fricking black bear cub come rolling down the mountain and land right at my feet. Momma bear saw us and came busting it down the side of the mountain like a damn train. Dad and I hauled arse back down the trail and momma and baby bear scrambled back up the mountain side.

Got trapped in a little inlet in a canoe in Canada. Thought we were following a moose up stream but it had circled back and blocked off the only exit to the lake. Very tense 5 minutes of it just staring at us from 20 feet away, I never would have believed they could look so GD huge.

Most dangerous is kind of subjective.

Ran into a number of large gators in my time.

Encountered some bull sharks while fishing

Came across a bobcat in the woods once but it just ran off.

for those of you that don't know......

back in 1991.... during muzzleloader season in MS...

I took a 50 yard shot at a 5pt(yeah yeah yeah.. times were different then).... boom.. puff of smoke..... four legs sticking up kicking....kicked for a few minutes.. then stopped...

It was pretty chilly that morning.. and I had a pretty bad hangover..... climbing down from stand.. dropped gear back.. powder spilled everywhere... so.. no go.. all over moist ground....so... I leave gear pack... where me knife was.. .with gun.. lean on tree....

amble over to said buck.. who now for 20 minutes has not so much has flinched...... I walk over there.. eyes are open.. NO MOVEMENT. .no breathing >>> NOTHING...

keep in mind.. I am at the time 6'1 bout 200 lbs.... and what many would consider a fairly formidable individual..ie... most of you in real life would not have chosen me as a sparring partner... and.. I have some ability to endure great pain and hard ship.... without diverting from the task at hand.......

so.. here I am.. I reach down grab him by the horns... and WHAT THE PHUCK DO YOU KNOW he wheels his head around.. nearly breaking may arm in the process - had same thing happened now... the deer would probably win...

I then grab the other antler with my free hand.. he is now kicking and draggind me..... I could not let go.. because.. I seriously thought the only way I could not get trampled was the angle I was hodling him... and.... I had to walk/run/stumble.. with him as too NOT get behind him again.. front legs not as powerful as back...

I tripped him a few times.. tried in vain to pin him.. bout the time I thought he was done.. he would regain strength.. and move on.... this went on for about and hour and half.. through a pine thicket... and many briars.. Finally.. I had him pinned down pretty good... and he was pretty whipped... so was. I... I had that I am about to die metallic taste in my mouth about 3 times.. puked once.....

so.. this time we are about 100 yards from a road...with a free hand I took off my belt.. put it around his neck.. and walked/ drug him to the road... which was well over a mile from where I left my truck.... and I could SEE my truck from where I was hunting....

I was standing in the road walking him towards my truck when another truck from the the club drove up(actually a fairly famous family).... the mom jumped out... yelling my name... wanting to know how I caught that deer... as they pulled up to me... the deer keeled over and dropped.... this time we cut him just to make sure....

I had whelps and bruises ALL over me.. I was picking briars and thorns out of me form days....

I did not touch another live deer until 2007 when lil choupique broke a does back and she was making all kinds of noise.....

like I and another poster have said... i had witnesses....

the yellow box is where I was hunting... the red box is where we ended up

Most of mine aren't dangerous, just a shock/scare.

Brown Bear in Alaska - Technically it was so fat and happy on salmon that it wasn't particularly dangerous. We'd be fishing our way up a stream crossing back and forth and kept getting stuck midstream when a bear would show up where we were headed.

Bull elk in RMNP - Then 16 year old me and my brother had the bright idea to frick with a huge elk while backpacking. We'd keep a few trees between it and us so that it couldn't complete its charge each time. Looking back it wasn't very smart.

Killer armadillo - A cousin shot a doe late at my place. He was waiting at the house when I got home and we drove out there to find and clean it. Had to send him back to the house for some things and I waited in the woods, it was "can't see your hand in front of your face" pitch black out. Anyways, something came charging at me in the dark and I flipped out. Finally got my phone out to light it up and it was an armadillo.

Pack of coyotes - Coming down from a stand after dark. Dropped right down in to the middle of a pack of yotes. They went ballistic all around me. Not really a threat but scared the crap out of me and I'm sure I looked ridiculous spinning in circles with an arrow ready.

Wolf - Canoe trip in the boundary waters. Never saw a wolf the entire trip. Back at the entry point I was taking a bag of trash to the dumpster and a large one darted out from behind the dumpster and in to the woods when I opened the lid.

I've got some good close ups of brown bears, they are fairly predictable. I Feel more threatened in most cities than I do around most bears.
