I pictured it, and I

That reminds me though. A covey of quail in the pitch dark walking to my stand in the morning. I imagine that is what a heart attack feels like. Those basterds sure like to wait til you are on top of them til they flush, huh?

Coon in a box stand before daylight. Coon ended up dead but only after he drew blood from me in 3 different places. Has anyone ever fired a .270 inside a stand? A scoped bolt action is not the preferred weapon for close quarter battle.

I know the feeling. Had a similar encounter with a possum. Had left my bag in the stand the previous hunt with some beef jerky in it. Right before daylight the next morning the bag started moving. Shot into it with my 9mm side piece about 5 times while it bounced around. Ruined the bag and ruined the hunt. My dad was hunting one stand down and immediately called wondering how the hell I shot a bolt action rifle with 4 rounds 5 times that fast. I nearly had a heart attack and almost shot my toes off.

Got my arse completely whipped by an emu once.

It had escaped from a farm and we found it on a place I was hunting. We knew where it came from, so devised a plan to return it as a good gesture. It was not really wild, and you could walk up within 10 ft or so before it would take a couple steps away. I'm not sure about the best way to catch a 100lb bird, but I promise you it isn't roping it. When you are tied on to a bird that size, with feet like clubs, it's an indescribable feeling. And for some reason, my mind couldn't tell my hands to let go of the rope as the bastard clubbed me over and over with feet that felt like bricks. If it wouldn't have knocked me out, I wouldn't have dropped the rope, and he likely would have killed me.

Now days, someone would have videoed it and I'd be an internet sensation. As it stood, the guy I was hunting with just stood against a tree and laughed.

That sucks man. You're lucking it didn't kill you. The old man I lease land from use to raise Emu when he was younger and told me a story about a ranch hand that got killed by a Emu.

A black bear and her cub with me and my dog. I was afraid my dog was going to run after them when they took off running and she wouldn't have stood a chance.

Came upon a Bigfoot. He was sitting on a rock when I walked up to him. He stood up and I froze. He raised his hand up as if he wanted to give me high five. But I was so full of terror I could not give him high five. I left him hanging. Bigfoot then walks away shaking his head.

Came across this bear in Cade's Cove. He walked within 10 feet of me towards a guy with a sandwich and there really wasn't anywhere to go. Scary/ awesome experience.
