99 for the one I bought my son. Fun to shoot.

Do not sand it. Leave it be. Just de cosmo it with hot water, stem, sun, hair dryer, etc.

You wouldnt happen to have an email or phone number for this guy would ya? I live in Monroe and that would be nice to pick which one I wanted.

Edit: I looked and I don't have an email for me. On Bayou Shooter his name is belmor. I looked at his last few posts and said he was moving to Florida and was selling all his guns so if he has any left he might make a deal.

To add: You might give Richie's Pawn and Gun a call. They are in Mississippi, but might give a hookup. If you aren't a BayouShooter member, join and tell them you are (i.e. don't lie about it). They are sponsers and take care of the BSers.

It would also be a good person to ask about the straw purchase. Personally, I don't think it's straw because the intended parties have no idea it's coming. Maybe do a sheet of paper acknowledging a gift for legal purposes?

I own one, picked it up from cabela's. They aren't out for display, you have to ask for them.

A steel bash plate for a buttstock makes for a good skull cracker, not so much on recoil absorbtion

Yeah. I added a recoil pad to mine.

The recoil is not that bad, the heavy long rifle seems to help

Classic arms sell them single or by the case of 20. 89 to 99 bucks

For $100, I'm finding it nearly impossible to convince myself not to buy one.

Thats what I was thinking.

Now which is better the Hex action or the round one?

Neither is "better". The hex are a little more rare is all. Might make it a little easier to drill and tap for scope mounts if that's your plan ?
Still not really a collectible worth anything.

If I were buying my first one, I'd be more concerned with the quality of the bore, than the factory origin or matching numbers, etc.

Definitely understand but unless I find someone local then actually being able to check the bore and riflings may be out of my control. Also not buying it to "collect", they made millions of these guns. Just want one to play with. Just thought one may be made better than the other.

Look for a local gun show. There's got to be a few guys selling them there. You might have to pay a few dollars more, but you won't have FFL charges and shipping. And you'll be able to light the bore, work the action, etc.

I paid $120 for mine. Its very solid. I don't think I could get one shipped to me for that.

Classic also offers a hand select option for $10 extra. They will hand inspect 10 rifles and pick the best one of the group
