I’ve got a couple of old guns I need to get cleaned up and restored. Anyone have any recommendations in the Lafayette, Baton Rouge, New Orleans area they would recommend?

I've always wanted a Python because of Resident Evil 1. They stopped making it though and prices are ridiculous. Had a Ruger GP100 but it just wasn't the same.

My grandpa was given a Colt Python when he retired from Mississippi State police. That's one of the finest guns I've ever put my eyes on.

It's common to see them go for $3000 on Gun Broker.

restored

The vast majority of people don’t know how to properly restore a gun, and even for those that do the end product is often worth less. In other words, unless your gun is a compete junker you will be spending money on a restoration that will decrease the value of the gun. FWIW

My in-laws own a bar and my father in law bought a 4” Python, probably 15-20 yrs ago, off a young video poker junky for 150.00.

What would you suggest for guns that need work then if I don’t have any expertise or ability in that area?
