I am considering buying one and would appreciate any feedback you may have on them.

I am looking at the 21LTS Guide Pkg online but bass pro never has one in stock for me see in person or test drive.

Mako like many other brands went downhill in quality after being assumed by Tracker Marine/Bass pro

A lot of the mako bay boats are Kenner knock off hulls.

Seems a little overpriced too. I also thought I read that either the rod holders or cupholders in the console drain on top the batteries.

I've never fished one, but this was the impression I got kicking tires around one. A frontier would be a significantly better buy IMO.

Yea, kenner made my favorite hulls of old and the new frontier/blackjack are my favorite bay boat hulls. The makos I saw looked more like wanna be pathfinders than kenners, which is a great design as well.

That said, part of what made the old kenners great is they were wood core and heavy, and they were very well built.

I didnt notice anything that was a red flag to me, but I dont think they should cost as much as they do.

Have a buddy in Eunice La with a pristine 21 Kenner he is looking to sell. It’s only missing a PP and has a small gps.
Email me@ name@yahoo.com and I’ll give you his contact info.
It’s going to be $1,000’s less than a new 21’.

I'm a Mako owner. Do not get a new Mako. As someone else said, they went way downhill after tracker bought them. Hulls pre 1999 are solid AF. New stuff is junk.

Here is link for history of the company:

Model years 1996-1998 became a public company known as Mako Marine International but the Schwebkes were no longer involved

Mid year 1998 to present Tracker Marine bought the parent company and took back private.

Tracker marine is the GE of the boating world. Buy the competiton then rape and pillage em for all their name is worth.

That’s pretty comparable to price of a frontier with the same options. Would go frontier 100%

Frontier has the best bottom and "bang for buck" on the market right now IMO. Theres some things I'm not crazy about, but my old man has an 18 foot and it's a whole lot of boat for what he paid.
