So after pulling camera on Ga hunt land I find a pic from a camera I put on a big scrape I found on Wed Nov7. Came to find out when I pulled the game card I had a pic of the buck I took following the doe that led to his demise. Pic was taken 4 hrs before I arrowed him @ 150 yds away from the game cam location
Bonus pic of wood duck taken from same cam, same spot after 3 days of rain.

Looking at the pic again it looks like he had just bred her. You can see her fur/skin messed up just in front of her rear hips where his front legs were wrapped up during their love session. :)
Hope the Mrs has a big boy Jr to carry on his gene pool
LOL

Just noticing the date and green foliage. Is the rut that early in GA?

Usually on our property (Harris County) We will see full on rut behaviour starting between Nov 8-10th. Every single year. My last three mature bucks arrowed on that property have come on Nov 9th twice and Nov 10th. All were tending hot does.
Of course there will be breeding for two weeks or so as other does come into heat. That camera also caught two bucks chasing a hot doe on the 16th and another pair on the 24th. But usually it's "on" @ Nov 10.
The biggest buck ever killed on that property was killed on the last day of the season (Jan 3rd) 30 yrs ago. He was trailing a hot yearling doe that had probably just come into her first heat. The buck was an 8 1/2 year old 168 1/4. Probably would have never been killed if not for that young poon... LOL

Wisconsin deer means early rut.

My understanding as well.
Supposedly both Wisconsin and Kansas gene pool deer were brought into Ga. to restart the herd after The Great Depression basically reduced the herd to nothing.
Around the northern part of Lake Eufaula, (Chattahoochee River) I used to hunt on a lease where the rut peak was Nov 15. The Alabama deer, 200 yrs across the river, had a rut peak of Jan 17th or so.
Two months difference 200 yards away....crazy!

Some high quality pics... how much did that cam cost?

I want to say right at $100, on sale. Maybe a hair more than that.
