MWP, I’ve gotten good recommendations from you on Drake and Bill Sherrill (now KPO), honestly shocked you’re suggesting Run n Gun. Their duck hunting in my experience is inconsistent.

I guess I should have qualified that Run n Gun is mostly a goose hunting operation. They put a hurting on the geese. Ducks are kinda meh for them.

Louisiana Outfitters with Scott Richey, Hackberry Rod and Gun, or Hennings Guide Service. All in SW La. If you're only wanting ducks then Hackberry Rod and Gun will fit. For a goose and duck combo contact LA outfitter and Henning and see what they have.

That's about as good as you'll get down in SW La for hunts with lodging, if you go the cheap route or bite on someone that's always advertising you'll be disappointed and embarrassed in front of your clients.

Only the finest duck hunting outfit in the basin... Ive been on multiple hunts out there and although ive never seen it with my own eyes, locals say its the only place in the state where people can kill pintail and wigeons in the timber

Never hunted with them but ive hunted in Lubbock before and its pretty good shooting. If you arent hunting sandhills then I advise you just cancel your trip because you are missing out on the best game meat you will ever eat

I’ve had Sandhills before. Ribeye of the sky. I will have my permit but we are targeting geese

Very true, if you see someone in that business advertising everyday, stay away.

More information would help narrow down the type of hunting you are looking for...

Marsh?
Rice Field?
Flooded Timber?

If you want rice fields, Scott Richey at Louisiana Outfitters does run a great place. His camp is not Gross Savanne pampering you... but it is nice, clean, and more than adequate. The food is always good.

Is Goose Guides in Kaplan still open. I think Klint owned it. That was my first goose hunt. Guy was great. Price was affordable and he really did a true Texas rag spread
