To Parvo. 1 year old. Great dog and my sons friend. Bought her at 2 months and was told she had all shots. Vet says either she didn't or a rare case. Prolly my fault but bring your new pups to vet. Awful 3 days.

Lost my bird dog to parvo about 6 months ago. It sucks to see a dog go through that terrible shite. I dont get overly attatched to dogs, but it really hurts to see a dog suffer like that.

Bleach kills parvo, which can otherwise live for a year in soil. Go on a bleach rampage. Sorry for your loss man.

Sorry to hear about your loss, sucks to loose a dog at a young age, especially when kids are involved...

Btw, it isnt your fault. My dog was vaccinated and got it at 8 months old. A vaccination is no sure thing. Parvo kills dogs and there's only so much you can do.

That sucks man. I begged my dad for a blue tick when I was a little kid. Finally got one. Named him Sam. Ran him with the camp dogs for a deer season and a half. One day we turned loose and it was one of those deals where the deer/dogs got ahead of everybody and they left the country. For a few day you're back at the camp waiting on all the dogs to show back up. Most did but Sam wasn't with em. Long story short, I feel your pain.

Every kid should have an old hound dog named Sam or Hank or something like that. A kid can learn alot about life in a short time from a good dog.

Downshifter, you're pretty much the coonass version of me with the dog hunting. In our hayday we had 70 something Walker hounds in rotation running the piss out of em. We'd have a dozen races or so a day. Granted this is in pineywoods country where you could cut em off on gravel roads fairly easily. Till I was 12 or so I thought deer hunting was hanging your head out the window listen for dogs..

Unfortunalty that all petered out when I was about 18. But it's what I grew up on and will defend the rest of my life. We'll still burn the arse out of a rabbit though.

Man I really to hate to hear about it dying.

I hate to hear about a kid loosing a dog, but it really is something every kid should go through. You learn a whole lot from that first dog that you loose.

Except for the ones that run off, every dog I've ever had has died. Not counting the ones I've still got. And thier days are numbered. Dog dying is a part of living. It damn sure sucks, especially when you're a kid.

Yellow lab named Jed.

Grew up with that dog. My old man got him when I was about 4 or 5. Got hit on the road.

Balls is right. The only bad thing about a dog is they won't outlive you.
