It’s in the $20k ballpark.
When I bought s new motor for my progator I almost had a heart attack when the guy told me the price.

I went with etec when they had 10 yr warranty. Not that brand loyal just dealer was close to where I keep the boat and my grandson uses it like he stole it for bass tournaments.

I made a few calls and was given this number but I've also come across some more attractive options. I'll make some more calls tomorrow and see what I can find. How are you liking the G2 and what did you have before?

I have a boat for sale with an 08 etec 200HO. So basically 220 HP. Runs great I just wanted a new boat. Have it for sale at Boatyard in Marrerro. Will deal and boat is currently priced not much more than motor value with fancy newish (3yrs) electronics (Garmin Echo, Fusion, VHF). Sounds like it might be an option for you. Buy for motor value, keep the electronics, strip the boat and sell or donate boat/trailer. I am just looking to unload since I already have my new rig.

I had regular 200 etec when I bought the pro gator new.
The first month I blew 3 heads which was bad computer. The dealer sent whole engine with computer back to bombardier. Bombardier sent the dealer a new engine block with computer no cost to me.
After that I really never had any issues.
Good on gas, started first crank, and take off good.

The only reason I put new engine on was my grandson got into high school bass tournaments. I wanted to get him something newer with a warranty. He uses the boat 3 to 4 times a week. I drove the boat a few times and like G2 over regular etec. Seems like it has more raw power and a little more responsive. What sold me was the dealer is not far from my grandson’s house.

My only complaint on both engines is in shallow water the water intake clogs up really easy.

I have had a G1 Etech for 4 years now on my boat and no complaints. It’s been a pretty solid motor and I wouldn’t hesitate to get another one.

The only down side is there aren’t many dealers in South LA depending on where you live. Thats my only knock on them.

I would agree if you have an etec in South LA finding a good service guys not easy.
South, MS it seems like they have a lot more and even Texas has a lot more dealers.

The dealer in Abbeville has treated me well in my past experiences. They are Platinum, I don’t know if that makes a difference or not. Walked into the dealer in Pineville yesterday since I was already in Alexandria for a meeting and those baws haven’t called me back. Too busy selling $100K Vexus boats I guess.

The sportsman in Abbeville does good work.
Really helpful.
Brother in law bought an Epic from him and likes boat along with service.

I know of a low hour (approx 80) 2015 Merc 250 proxs that will be for sale in the next month or two. My buddy is upgrading to a new 300R 4 stroke for his ranger.

Max HP on the boat is 225. Besides, I'd kill myself with a 250.

Update - found a deal on a'18 G2 200H0 still in the crate. Pulled the trigger today.

Found a great deal on a '18 G2 225HO as well but just couldn't justify paying more for it.

Didn't find shite with Mercury and Yamaha.

The 225 HO is at Jet-A-Marina in Kentucky. Call 270-395-4030 and ask for Toby. It's a '18 model year still in the crate. Shipping was around $500 to LA.
