Anybody know of any chocolate lab pups available or available soon in South Louisiana or vicinity? Looking to spend in the $700-$800 range for a good duck dog/family dog. Looked at Louisiana Sportsman and gundogbreeders.com, even tried google, but so far no luck. It's a shot in the dark.

I saw several listings on La. Sportsman for labs recently. Not sure if they were chocolate though

I got my little man from Y-Farms kennel in Zachary. He's a little over 7 months old now and he's an awesome dog

ETA: he was 950 though

The bloodlines from there are really good, but I think most run about $1000. I think someone on this board has a dog from there and can chime in

Make sure your breeder does all appropriate screening tests on the sire and bitch. If you want an athletic dog you need to avoid orthopedic disease which can be common in labs

This fella I hunt near has the most beautiful and largest chocolate lab I have ever seen. I've got to find out where he got his dog.

I have a female from Bayou Labradors, the poppa is Chopper and the mommma is Bell, could not be happier with her! She cost $1000 but completely worth it in my opinion.

Few of my pups went to friends in LC. One particular dog (Deuce) is 85 lbs and very good looking dog. My male is 90lbs from the same litter, he's in training and doing really well. I've heard great feedback from everyone on my last litter.
