I guess more that I'm concerned about the Tikka love. The fact people accept such a rifle and recommend it as the "best" option is astounding. 30 years ago a man wouldn't even mention he owned such a rifle, much less bragged about it.

Because it feels like a "bargain" rifle when you first pick it up. It bolt feels like a "bargain" rifle. The trigger....well the trigger feels pretty damn goods. Point is, it feels "cheep". For gods sake, savage was shunned for years because hunters thought it was ugly. Shot great and was dependable, just didn't look right. Pickup a winchester model 70 featherweight, remington 700 bdl, browning a bolt medallion.....know pick up that Tikka.
It's like dating that ugly trashy bitch from the trailer park cause she fricks. No matter how good that shite is, you just can't be proud of it.

Oh no the hell you didn't. It's got the smoothest bolt i've ever seen.

Well this we agree on.

Featherlight and A bolt are better looking rifles. BDL, not so much.

Official rifle of the OB is Tikka
I personally have a Remington 700BDL and Browning X-Bolt. I like both and have never had a problem with either.

Tikkas have no soul. Without a soul, it's just a rifle. Deer rifles have souls. Now get off my lawn!
Really just bustin y'all's balls a little. I really do feel Tikkas are substandard rifles, but do acknowledge that they are accurate and have great triggers, so they're obviously a good value. After all, it's just my opinion and based on nothing more then my personal beliefs and limited experience (very limited) with the Tikka.

Real guns sit in wood furniture and have blue finishes. Now get off MY lawn.

I have a 1963 Winchester Model 70 .270 cal. Leupold 3-9 scope.
.270 will handle Whitetail easily
Some of today's rifles are sold as having "wood" stocks when they ain't!

Remington 7600 is a very overlooked rifle. My old man has one that shoots as good as my tikka. Killed piles of deer with it.
