I would say anything free-floated it seamless. My preference is the longer short barrel 9.5" but add the free-floated keymod or similar after purchase. If you don't want to modify it go with the pdw 5.5" barrel.
All I really hear about these pistol AR is that you want adjustable gas blocks. So something to think about if you change ammo

And a suppressor or 3 levels of hearing protection. People who buy these need to understand that they’re not like shooting a regular pistol.

While the 1st one looks pretty cool, you need to research and see how a 5.5” barrel strips the 5.56 of it’s most important component (speed)
If that were a a 9mm I’d be all for it. In a 5.56 I’d be in the nope category.

A buddy just brought by a Saint Victor yesterday that he had just bought. It was chambered in .308 and had a suppressor on it. It was a really nice looking good and he said it was very accurate. Not sure what the sale price is but he paid $1200.

Thanks all. I’d just use it for home defense and shooting at the range occasionally.

You shoot that thing indoors you won't have to hit him; the shockwave will knock him down, and the cops will have to shout their questions at you.
Seriously, if you've never shot a short-barrel AR you should do a little research first. They're not fun to shoot unless they're suppressed. It's not uncommon for people to buy them and get rid of them after a couple of trips to the range.

That 5.5" rig is essentially worthless

Agree. Shooting 223 out of a 5.5” barrel....why???

I don't get the point of having a 5.56 rifle with a barrel under 14.5”, especially under 10”. If you want an AR-15 pistol why not .300 blackout? In a close quarters setting you better have damn good hearing protection and no friendlies near you shooting 5.56 out of a 5.5” barrel.

Put one together from ordering the upper you want and seperate lower from PSA. You can build for much less than $1000. Additionally the 5.5” barrel is going to need an extremely heavy bullet. Probably need to be closer to 10.5”+ if you keep the 556 cartridge.

If you put a silencer on it does solve all of the issues?
Posted on 7/19/20 at 4:53 pm to crimsonsaint
No. Just the flash and the how loud it is.

Oh ok. I thought it would help out with the velocity as well.

Ballistic performance from a 75gr BTHP out of a short barrel is acceptable. They still perform at lower velocity.
