generally think Rokslide is full of PNW assholes who enjoy sniffing each other’s farts, but you can’t really argue with their methods on this one issue.

You actually can because they only test one. It's a good test but it's only 1 sample.

I agree with the Leupold VX3. You can get a 3.5x10 off Gunbroker in the 300 range.

I think all of their lightweight scopes suffer from it.

Dang. Hopefully my Mark 4 holds up. I picked it over a Nightforce because I didn't like the eyebox on the Nx6 or 8 (idr which i tried out) and a good deal on a used one came along.

Lol it's definitely overkill for 99% of the deer hunting that I do. I wanted to get a nice setup before I have kids and start feeling guilty about spending too much on my toys.

Vortex Crossfire, Venom or Viper. For the money they are great. My only drawback to them is the lack of reticle choices.

This is 99% the reason I budget shop and don't buy often

I'm sure you know this and i'm sure it's probably already been said, but Don't skimp on rings/mounts.

I've had nothing but good luck with Leupold and Vortex.

You may want to check out Athlon scopes as well. I have an Athlon Helos BTR GEN2 4-20x50mm APRS6 FFP IR MIL that i've been extremely happy with. I think Europtics has a few demo's for $490-500 that should carry their lifetime warranty.

Have a Vortex Strike Eagle 5-25 on my 10/22 and it is awesome. Midway USA has the 4-24 Strike Eagle for $299 and the Viper 6-24 for $369. Both will do what you want and you will have funds left to spend on some good rings.

I use several brands of scopes and Vortex is about the best bang for your buck out there.

Good luck!

Arken's are great for their price point, and built like tanks. Only problem with the ep line is they're big and heavy asf.

I learned my lesson with that a few years ago with my muzzleloader. Don't buy Monstrum rings off of Amazon

I was doing a ladder test with different loads trying to find a node so I wasn't really paying attention to how it was grouping. It took about 15 shots for this to happen. I was wondering why the eye relief sucked then noticed the scope was 3 or 4 inches further forward than where I mounted it. Rings were torqued properly and were supposed to be for the type of rail that was on that gun.
