I do want to go out west to hunt big game, so then the distance will be farther

265 range finder walking Montana Mule deer
Savage .308
Longest shot ever was 450+ on a feeder raiding coon. Took 16 rounds and some serious Kentucky windage but 150gr 308 did some damage

That coon cost you about $100 in ammo. I get it though, once you get started, you cant quit.

330yds with a .243 down a valley clearing with powerlines. distance walked off with handheld GPS
remington model 7 youth with remington 100gr boattail and some shitty $90 BSA scope.
I thought I missed because the sound/echo completely dissipated and I was racking the bolt back to chamber another round and he collapsed.
when I got to him to inspect, the bullet went right through the front of his neck and tore his artery out.
I'd rather be lucky than good any day

lots of .270 shots on here....

Few years ago I was driving to my stand and had to cross a pipeline. Saw a doe a good ways down the lane and backed up the truck where it couldn't see me. I then belly crawled about 15-20 yds into the opening and shot it. Stepped it off and it was right at 275 yds.

I’ve got a 3pt at 365 measured. I’ve got a doe at a ranged 348 and a ten point at a ranged 344.
I killed a sow at 416 measured and hit a doe at 416 that wasn’t ranged. If I’d had a rangefinder she’d have been dead.
Edit: I believe the doe to have been at 350, pre rangefinder, if she had been at 350 she’d have been dead, if I’d known she was at 416, 8 more inches of elevation was what I needed.
Clipped her sternum. Saw her a week later feeding. She was fine. Bought a rangefinder.
All .270 Win except the hog, .22-250

350 yards
for real: around 200 yards with a .444 marlin on a cutover
same spot the next year I missed a doe standing in the same spot with the same gun. she ran straight to me and I killed her at about 50 yards. Does that count?

Around 175-200 yards- 30.06 with 165 core loks. Don’t even know how I hit it, was around 24 at the time hunting a clear cut. Ran across in front of me and I missed on the first shot. Was pissed, so I just kept shooting and somehow on the last shot. I hit it right in the right ham. Looked like someone poured 5 gallons of blood out.

Does that count
We will allow, only due to it being a .444 marlin.
