Took the boy to Rockefeller because I heard the crabs are running...negative. We only caught a few and they were small. The crowds were to be expected on a holiday weekend. Took him to Henderson today and got into some nice bream. Only caught about a dozen, but they were huge.

Went with Rize to Rosemound yesterday and struggled for a couple bass and a couple goggleye.

Took my son to his first fishing rodeo at Cabelas Saturday and he caught a few tiny bream right when we got there but decided it was more fun to play with the night crawlers.

Sounds like a great weekend. I love me some trout and they're one of the easiest fish to clean. Win/win!

Launched the yak at Herbert's on big lake and headed north past the camps. Fished all day- 1 flounder.

Got a bit scared trying to head back to the launch. If it had been a quarter mile more, I would have had to camp at someone's dock for a while. Shoulder is killing me. I won't be doing that again in the little boat.

All trucks and trailers were gone when I got back to the launch. Guy there made the comment,"I bet you're the only guy that caught anything today."

I told him my catch and he said he couldn't understand why it's so bad right now. Everything seemed right: overcast, light wind, clean water, tide movement but nothing biting. I was damn near hitting reds in the head with baits, I could see fins all day and they just wouldn't bite.

Fished Lake Borgne rigs and proctor point. Three reds and a dozen trout. Slow fishing, but it was nice to be out there for a while.

We had trout biting all day Saturday. Unfortunately most of them were 11-11.5 inches. Four of us managed to catch about 20 keepers.

Grand Isle. Kayaks. Long weekend.

Had a good weekend- between my son and I, we caught around 40+ specks and 12 reds of which we kept about half and tagged the rest!

Didn't get to head to the camp until yesterday afternoon. Caught a dozen or so big bream yesterday. Got 5 miles out in the basin today and my lower unit locked the frick up. had to troll against the current for a fricking hour to get to a place where I could find a tow. Oh, and I didn't even get to wet the first line.
