We did this several years ago and the Sig p226 won. Board is different and there are different weapons out now. Here is a list of some off the top of my head. Help me fill in and we will start one day this week.

Only looking at semi's

Beretta 92f
FNH FNX-45
CZ 75

Best for what?

To look at and shoot? 1911.

Reliability? Glock.

Anything else is a blended compromise of those two facets.

If I could put Gaston glock, john Moses browning, and Kalashnikov in the same room, the world would be left with the greatest firearm of all time.

What is an H&K HK? You should have H&K P30 and USP listed. The winner should be Sig P226 again if you are going by a combination of reliability, durability, functionality, and cost.

.45 glock if shooting ball ammo. Runner up 9mm glock for sheer volume of bullets.

If shooting JHP and infinite ammo available, glock 10mm loaded with buffalo bore. Can effectively kill any animal in north or south America.

If sitting on a range willing to deal with a few hiccups, a 1911. Damned near any 1911 is a good gun to shoot. The ugliest 1911 on the planet, which is undeniably a Kimber tle II, which I have the misfortune of owning, is still a beautiful gun.

The best sidearm is the one YOU carry ALL the time. For me that is the Glock 19, but I'm smart enough to know that my personal choice may not be the best for another person. I have a friend who carries his S&W MP everywhere, and when we go shooting together sometimes he outshoots me and sometimes I outshoot him.

H&K HK45. It's the newer USP

I have the VP9 listed which is basically the P30 only striker fired.

ETA: I'm pretty confidants that if you ask people that's shot both the P30 and the VP9 few would choose the P30

He was limited by the technology of his time.

ETA:

It could be argued he did make it.

The 1903 was special.
