LDWF Sec of Commission's office burglarized after Melancon tried to alter

the minutes of the LDWF Commission meeting. This is absolutely insane and the US DOJ needs to intervene in this ASAP. Charlie Melancon needs to resign or be fired by JBE immediately. Now the state is going to be get its arse sued because we as the tax payers will be responsible for paying for Melancon's illegal activities.
What's behind burglary and criminal investigation at Wildlife and Fisheries?
In his motion to delay the minutes' approval, commissioner Chad Courville made reference to an email sent anonymously to all commissioners suggesting that changes had been made to the minutes without the consent of the commission.
The minutes had historically been transcribed and compiled by Wendy Brogdon, secretary of the commission and an assistant at the department, but a source close to the situation said the July minutes had been typed up by Toby Gascon, confidential assistant to Secretary Charlie Melancon. Brogdon was then asked by Gascon to sign her name to the minutes, but she refused, the source said.
Items stolen, the report states, included a weekly/monthly planner and an external hard drive. It is unknown if there was any forced entry. The source said very few people at the department have master keys to open all offices.
On the Monday after she filed the police report, Brogdon was told not to come to work, according to Gascon, who replied via email, along with Melancon, to a list of questions sent to the secretary about the situation.

If there's a sex scandal involved this would be a great miniseries.

I stole this thread from the political talk board, but it sure looks shady...

I've said it for years, this department is crooked as a question mark.

Word on the street is that Charlie has hired a person to seek out subordinates in WLF. Anyone that is going against him is gonna have a hard time. This guy needs to go.

Melacon just a good ole boy, dindu nuffin.

I sure hope the commissioners kept copies of the submitted minutes and have them compared closely to recordings.

That might have been what was on the hard drive. Melancon is saying he doesn't believe it was a burglary, even though cops came and filled out a report. Nothing to see here, but oh by the way the original minutes that document Me lying to everyone on the commission are gone. Lost em.

So the picture I saw of a young guy breaking into the office at like 2am over the weekend was not actually a young guy breaking into the office at 2am on the weekend?

Was he dressed as bigfoot?

If people gave a shite they would vote with their wallet, unfortunately nobody cares enough to skip a hunting or fishing season to get their point across.

Unfortunately that would just help him poor-mouth. His plan from day one as a JBE appointee seems to have been to advance the narrative that the department can't afford anything, so we might as well reallocate that money to places it will be useful.
That's the endgame with snapper here, and it finally became clear to me. Present inflated figures to say we can't afford to do $10M worth of research (later shown to be a not even the state's responsibility), so that the project needs to be shot down. Since we decided the state isn't fit to manage snapper, I guess LA CREEL can be phased out. When the sunset provision comes up on the license increase, they'll say the department needs it to stay afloat. $2.5M is quietly cut from LDWF and given to whatever part of the state budget JBE actually cares about.
Viola, tax increase without ever having to call it one.
