LDWF Safety Checks

HB 756 will take affect August 1st. Among other things there is a section on enforcement that now requires "...reasonable suspicion that a violation of this Part has occurred or is occurring." before a wildlife agent or any other officer can stop or board a vessel. So in essence, no more random safety checks without cause. Thoughts?

Sounds vague enough to be able to make stops for random safety checks.

Yea, I dont see how it changes anything. The times I have been boarded by LDWF and USCG they always requested permission to board and I always wondered what would have happened if I had said no.

The Coast Guard can still board at will w/o any basis for doing so.
