What lake is that in the background?
Is this Kisatchi in CENLA, or Kisatchi in North Louisiana outside of Homer?

Dead, wounded or sick waterfowl are a primary source of easy food for eagles at this time of year. Probably ate some sick birds.

Two babies in E-3. They were just snacking on a coot and a tasty bass.

Some of the eagles are back at Kincaid. The E-3 perch tree had a pair today.

Timik has no half life, it keeps on killing.

If it is the same pair from last season I am hoping they learned a few things about parenting. The one fledgling that made it out of the nest was so pressured and hungry it killed its sibling. Rough to watch.

I love eagles. See them every day in my back yard.

They may want to check with Ga DNR. Clarks Hill lake lost a total of 18 bald eagles years ago.
They found out they had been poisoned naturally by a parasite in the coots they were eating.
The coots were getting it from something they ate that was connected to hydrilla.
Sprayed out the hydrilla, saved the eagles but ruined the bass fishing for years
Cause/effect

Wow, that's interesting. None were lost in the '24 season. That lake does have both coots and hydrilla though.
