Good looking truck.

Sorry about the stupid ho that hit you.

The rims look like the aluminum, but has the chrome package. Did the dealership switch those out for you?

I can separate them when I need to. Unfortunately, I do overthink most decisions

I don't think that's the chrome package, just how the front end is on the '12.

No. I didn't think you could get the KR with chrome rims stock. It came with the alum rims.

I'm keeping those HID headlights. I like the look but appreciate the $35 offer.

Putting the SCT program on soon. Any reviews on programs?
Also I've heard nothing but good reviews about the EcoBoost engine. Y'all say different?

Guys,

I know this might be a little long read so I apologize but I wanted ya'll's collective opinion. I have been reading this thread since the beginning b/c I am in the market for a new F150. It will be my first Ford Truck, and I am not as knowledgeable on trucks as most on this board.

My heart was set on 4X4 KR w/luxury package & chrome. After seeing Dr's pics on page 1, I was leaning towards the charcoal interior. I have some internal reservations about the ecoboost due to the fact that it is relatively new, so I was leaning towards the 5.0

Yesterday I went to dealership and found a 4X4 KR with everything I wanted except it had the adobe interior and not the charcoal. The sticker price was approx $53K. Since it was the first one I looked at, I didn't want to buy it w/out looking around.

I went to another dealership, and they did not have the KR I wanted, but tried to sell me on a 13 Platinum. It was beautiful. 4X4 w/chrome, loaded to hilt with the pecan/black interior. 55k on the sticker and after negotiating and with trade, TTL and all was 43k.

My wife loved that truck, but I walked b/c my heart was on a KR, and it had an ecoboost.

Did I make a mistake? Just need some guidance from you folks, who all know more about Ford Trucks than me.....

Thanks

I was not sold on the EcoBoost even before the latest issues (which are overblown IMHO).

Get what you want and and you won't regret it.

So what you're deciding on is:

1. KR for I'm guessing 41-42k, but not the right interior and it is Ecoboost
2. Platinum for 43k, has the right interior, and is a 5.0

Personally, I'd keep shopping around and find the EXACT truck that you want. You can find a KR with the right leather and 5.0. It's out there. Don't spend all that money and not get what you want.

1. KR for around 41-42k, but not the right interior and it is Ecoboost
2. Platinum for 43k, has the right interior, and is a 5.0

Just the oposite.

1. KR with wrong interior but 5.0
2. Platinum for 43k, right interior but ecoboost

However, I appreciate your advice. Will find just the truck I want.

Thanks guys

Interior on the platinum is better IMO, especially with the pecan. The ecoboost is awesome.

What is your trade in? Can't tell you if it's a good deal without knowing your trade in.

Most Ford trucks are getting ~~10-12k off sticker right now.

Aesthetics and tranny issues in the older ones. I'm torn between their new 2500 and a 250 right now though

Do the Ford diesels have the horrid front wheel independent steering/suspension?
