Am I justified, or do I need to chill...
Dog 1
48 pounds, mixed breed
Bordatella 25.82
Parvo booster
(had dhpp in april) 21.63
Intestinal exam 40.21
6 month proheart 66.91
Dog 2
53 pounds, shep mix
Rabies 25.22
DHPP booster 20.91
Parvo booster 21.63
Coronoa booster 19.48
Intestinal exam 40.21
Heartworm exam 42.99
Bordatella 25.82
Flu 26.11
Proheart 6 mo 72.97
Feel like we just got bent over, no lube. I don't even pay this much to take care of my kids...
1. Is parvo booster necessary 6 months after dhpp?
2. What about parvo booster at the same time as dhpp?
3. Should they be giving corona booster at all?
4. I'm already of the opinion that flu shot is bullshite.
5. How often is the 'kennel cough' bordatella usually given?

Doesn’t really seem all that bad tbh.

Really can't answer your questions, but...
We have a 4.5 pound Yorkie and it is about $125 for shots every year. I don't know what that covers. We only do bordatella, when he will be at a kennel and it is required. He is not around other dogs.

Livid may be a little strong regarding just the billed portion...huge sticker shock when coupled with the 3 nights of boarding that I also had to pay for and the ridiculous reception staff behavior. 5 girls. Me and one other lady in the office, I watched them LITERALLY do nothing for 5 minutes, because evidently helping people who come in "is not their job." THEN, they had a fun little conversation about their periods right there in front of God and everybody.

Why not go to tractor supply and get the 5-1 annual shots and DIY?

This. I use the 9 in 1 for 12 bucks and then a vet charges me 35 for the rabies. He is on cattle ivermectin and has never been positive for heartworms.

That’s average price in a medium sized market.
All of those vaccines are saving you money in the long run.

You aren't justified.
Some of those things I DIY, but in general i prefer to get most of those done at the vet once per year. Except the flu because that really is fricking dumb.

I'm a firm believer in the DIY route. To hell with paying a vet top dollar just to have their assistant give your dog a few vaccinations. I buy whatever vaccine I can from pet stores, with the exception of the rabies vaccine which is no longer available to the general public and needs a clinic to administer that shot-----and that's total bullshite if you ask me.

dhpp AND parvo at the same time? Is that not the same thing?
And from what I can see, Corona is not even recommended any longer.

Look around for the pop up clinics at petsmart, tractor supply, etc.. Can get all vaccines for cheap. There are a lot of hidden fees being charged in each of those. Injection, disposal, etc...
You should see the cost difference between children vaccines at a doc vs clinic.

Were they attractive? I know a vet that always employs pretty young women. Don't know were he finds them or how his wife feels but his office always has plenty of talent. Oh and I don't use him because he's pretty high.
Sounds to me you need to pay the bill and diy some of those things and also find a new vet. The vet I use has one butch employee.

sounds like you probably shouldn't have dogs or kids.
you definitely need to learn how to shop around.
Or you could just ask what things cost before you do them. But have fun being "livid". You're gonna bet bent over a lot in life.

Happens to me every time we take a trip somewhere. Costs more to board the dogs than it does for us to stay at the beach. It's crazy.
