Jim's service is light years ahead of Hebert IMO.
They have helped me a few times, once even when they knew money would not change hands.

Do you want shite or shite? I wont give either my money but am more than happy to window shop at both. Rare, if ever, will someone from either place help you though. Buy online and save yourself money and the headache.

What?

I've had lots of help from Jim's.
Gun smithy dude checked out one of my older shotguns to see if it was safe to fire.
One feller talked with me about the basics of reloading bullets for over an hour.
The only reason I could see for people not being waited on is that clerks are busy waiting on someone else.

you still have to have the gun shipped to an FFL and pay someone a fee when you buy online. Jims fee is 50.00. Idk who else to use.

It all depends on what day you go and who you get. One guy can be a dick to me but your best friend. My experiences have led to the opinion that they are both shite and will not get a penny of my money. However, I will admit that Jims does have one guy that knows his shite. His name is Nathan and is great to work with. I will not depend on him for all of my purchases from that over priced place so I choose to not go there.

If I need something that day, I go to Bowies or Academy. I do not care for Bass Pro or Cabelas staff either.

Probably just depends on what guy ends up helping out. I've dealt with some dumb people at Heberts, and Jim's (where I worked years ago). There's some really good, and knowledgeable guys at Jim's for sure.

Yeah pretty hard to argue that point.

Heberts just left a bad taste in my mouth when I was looking for a Smith & Wesson pistol a few months back. They are a preferred dealer of S&Ws but did not carry the pistol. No problem. Asked them if they would order it, guy said nope and walked away.

Been there several times before and just not impressed by their selection. They have lots of stuff but never anything that I need.

I've been to both.
I've bought firearms and accessories at both.

That being said, I now prefer to order online from Impact Guns or Bud's, then transfer to Precision. Precision charges $40.00 to transfer.
