Yes there are spots in Louisiana where numbers are still holding no one is arguing that. We are talking about the big picture not just "your blind". That seems to be the first thing weak minded folks want to defend. Numbers are up because "we" killed more. Not how it works. Your success if negated by 12 others that saw a decline or no change from last three years doesn't mean numbers are up are we are in a better spot. Last season was arguably one of the worst ever. My two spots were great we had increases at both..... didn't see me coming here and bragging. I seen the bigger picture. While my spots flourished everyone around me declined and every guide we seen and spoke with struggled. This year same two spots haven't seen anything close to 1- 2 man limit on a hunt.

I went to Arkansas duck hunting. I am convinced that is why ducks are moving west or not coming to Louisiana. It is Corporate Greed like crazy. It is an entire industry.
Every field has a blind or two and flooded. Hunters every where. It is insane.

DAMMIT. I knew it was only a matter of time. Instead of town (I don't want you giving away your spot) north or south end of parish. thx.

extreme southern end we were pretty vigilant about our boats/motors and even trailers being clean(left em there all season too) - guys next to us.. not so much(they used theirs at many places all season)

I agree, what is crazy is there is no oversight at all when it comes to the duck counts. The less and less ducks each yr phenomenon is slowly climbing northward with guys in Missouri starting to notice it. That is North of The Great Net Line. Seriously though DU be lying its arse off.

I don't trust DU any further than I can throw the lot of 'em. Was once very active until I came to realize that they were all about increasing populations in and around private clubs.

It is in a different flyway BUT I have been told by both state and federal biologists in Washington State, independent of one another, that waterfowl management plans included plans to short stop waterfowl as far north as weather will allow. No explanation why but it is obvious its working.

Hunting ducks in the south always required a higher level of skills simply due to the lack of new birds etc but intending to stop migration is a bad idea

Place was gold back in the 3/30 days, never missed a limit of mallards (2) but would sometimes struggle for the off duck. Only two other groups hunting it back then.
4 duck limit added 4-5 more groups and 6 duck opened the flood gates. Feds also quit taking care of the marsh, turned into a jungle with very little open water. Streeters became the lottery area and now that’s fubar.
The impoundment has always held ducks because they don’t get harassed. Lacassine company has struggled for the past couple years and they’re next door.

I know this will upset some folks. Killed a 6 man limit in less than one hour this morning on the Little Wabash in southern Illinois. Mallards and Gadwall.

Personally he has been doing well. As far as the hunting it has been spotty at best. About like everywhere else.

How have you been?

Damn.

I haven't heard any reports from Arky makes me think no new birds pushed in. If this cold front doesn't push any down then nothing will. It's the end if damn Jan.
