you say that you do not affect anyone hunting dogs on your property because it is just cane fields around your property
so my question is, would you still run dogs if your property was surrounded by other prime hunting leases?

i think the difference is that the people being complained about in this thread are not the same dog hunters that you encountered in MS

No. But you should research ways that you could actually impact the ones who are causing your problems rather than only the ones who aren't causing problems for anybody.
Looking at other states where regulations on hunting with dogs already exist would be a good start. Somebody was posting last night with first hand evidence.

even implying.
The only logical opposition to my idea, is you want no penalty for illegal dog hunting, and feel your rights to hunt with dogs, supercedes those who don't. You've yet to offer a solution to the problems many people have had with dog hunters. Why is that?

If the people hunting there also did or didn't have a problem with it, yes.
If they did we would address the problem. If the only solution was to not do it than we would not do it.

Where the hell are you getting this trash? I've very explicitly stated the exact opposite of that several times.

Because I don't know what the solution is.

well props to you then
although I'm not so sure I believe you

We are much more concerned with keeping a low profile and not having issues with our neighbors than we are about turning some dogs loose.

In Florida you have to register all dogs used for running deer every July prior to traing season opening. If an adjacent land owner catches a dog on their property they call in the registration number. I think after three complaints you are banned from running dogs. This doesn't stop outlaws but is a good start and gives people affected a legit option other than shooting dogs.

from this thread, you seem pretty passionate about your family's tradition of dog hunting, and now you say that if you had a neighbor that did not like you dog hunting, y'all would just stop on his word?
Posted on 11/27/12 at 8:48 am to WeagleEagle
The people here are having issues with outlaws. They will just pull the collars off their dogs.

No, thats the type of argument you get when the person your arguing with constantly makes shite up to try and prove a point. This is all shite in the last few pages youve made up about Downshift and then wonder why it goes south. Its your own BS thats made it go south. Quit trying to twist what he says so you have a point and debate the facts.

you can't or refuse to keep your dogs under control and that you have no problem with your dogs running deer off my land for you to shoot.

Again, you come across as only wanting to protect a way to run deer off bordering properties, onto yours

Well no. We'd stop them from getting on his property. It isn't hard to do with the way out land is laid out.

Then we're in agreement. Why so angry at me?

Then help be proactive in trying to find one. I've stated earlier in the thread, I have no problem with responsible dog hunters. It's the irresponsible ones most here have been having an issue with and are addressing. Perhaps, if responsible dog owners, would help find a solution, and recognize the harm others are doing to your side of the sport, it'd help. Working with stalk hunters to find a solution, not only would help relations, but might give each side a better understanding of the frustrations each have. I think the biggest problem dog owners have, is when this subject is brought up, they take it as an attack on them, when it's really an attack on the shady dog hunters.
Responsible dog hunters, and still/stalk hunters have a common enemy. I think that gets lost on the dog hunters sometimes.

Thats a pretty reasonable way to handle it. Would take some effort, but well worth it to get rid of a "thug"

I was waiting for you to pop up
I don't even care about the dog hunting argument, the "my" deer shite just pisses me off. Every problem I've had with deer hunters has something to do with "their" deer.

The shite should have been banned 20 years ago. It's a blight on our sport. Most of the negative comments I hear around here are directly related to these people. Thank God the Feds had the sense to finally ban it on Kisatchie.

Speaking of dogs, are y'all gonna run any this season?
Posted on 11/27/12 at 8:56 am to Alahunter
I'm pissed at you because you're only in this thread to piss me off. I've been holding my ground for 7 pages and haven't had to call anybody a dumbass until you come in here and start making up shite about me being billy bob the redneck dog hunter when I've stated the opposite at least once a page.
And there's never legislation for anything other than full bans on dog hunting in certain areas. That is most certainly an attack on me.
