once a deer steps onto my property, it is now my deer

when it steps back onto your property, it is now your deer

this is not a hard concept to understand.

just like trees, once the limbs cross the property line, those limbs belong to the adjacent owner.

No

I have a fundamental, almost religious problem with somebody calling a wild animal "theirs"

Why does it matter.you've stated your position. Move on.

Look, we used to have a pack of rabbit dogs, 3/4 Walker 1/4 beagle that would run the fricking legs off a rabbit. We ended up giving them up, selling, some some dying off, because of the bullshite we caught every Sunday running them.

Had to catch em because this one or that one didnt want em on the property, etc.

I feel for ya.

It shows that I have a fundamental problem with people thinking that the amount of money they invest in property gives them the right to call the animals on it theirs.

If an animal is on my land, it's mine. You can't come on my land to take it, shoot it, feed it, kill it or have sex with it. Your dog is under your ownership. Control it.

You can already shoot dogs on your property. You are just looking for an excuse to call the deer yours. You going to start branding them and fining the neighbor when he shoots one of "your" deer

If you believe this, then you shouldn't have a problem with deer falling under the livestock law. It simply is in place to allow landowners the legal option to shoot invading animals to protect their animals, or what animals are on their property.

Again, you come across as only wanting to protect a way to run deer off bordering properties, onto yours. Showing a complete and utter disregard for neighboring property owners and hunters. How forgiving and pleasant would you be, if hunters from a bordering lease, were consistently found on your property, shouting and hollering, trying to force deer on their land, and using the excuse, well, I didn't see a property line. Oops.

Because I am constantly being lumped in the same category as them and having words put in my mouth.

You're so full of shite. Deer wander. They don't belong to anyone. As much as you want them to be those deer on your property are not yours.

Now you're starting to piss me off. Where in the cornbread frick in this thread did I ever say ANYTHING about trespassing or doing any of this redneck shite is ok?

Where. Please point it out. I'm waiting.

A trespasser is a trespasser. It doesn't matter if he has dogs with him.

I will give you $10,000 if you can find where he said this, or anything that inferred this.

They're also ran off by dogs. That is the subject at hand. If deer wander onto another property that is stalk only, I have no problem. If they wander onto restricted hunting land, no problem. If they wander onto dog hunting land, no problem... UNLESS, they are ran onto by trespassing dogs. Dogs belong to hunters, they are an extension of them, during a hunt. If they're on my land, the owner is responsible for that, through inaction, disregard for my rights and property. Hell. Maybe they should not only include deer into the livestock law, but turning the dogs into the game wardens, should bring a fine to the owners as well. A bounty of sorts for the dead dogs.

My name is billy bob the redneck dog hunter. I saw this law and started taking the collars off my dogs. Congrats on passing a worthless arse law.

Then why be opposed to including deer into the livestock law? The only thing it does, is give legal permission to shoot the dogs illegally on another property. No reason to be opposed, unless you have an agenda to run your dogs on someone elses property, or too lazy to control them.

and? once those deer step foot onto my property, I consider them part of my property

once they leave, they are no longer part of my property

same as we do with plants or any other wild organism

Remind me again, who is making emotional arguments, and who is discussing rationally?

so because billy bob the redneck dog hunter will just ignore the law, we should just say "frick it" let them just frick everything up for everyone?

how dumb is that?

I'm not discussing anything rationally with you until you point out where I said all that shite you accused me of saying or even implying.

That's they type of argument you get, when you have no rational argument, and resort to blind emotional responses.
