Literally just fired my first shot of the season. Big arse hog came out at 250 yards in a full sprint and I said frick it. He never broke stride.

Hunted on Tensas NWR this morning, climbed my favorite tree.
Saw 3 deer total. One big doe, one monster 10ish point, one young 6 point…ALL downwind, south wind messing me up bigly!!!!
I shoot a Bear bow.

Calm before the storm
Barn stand about 200 yards from the house.
Have my little girl with me trying to shoot her 1St deer .
243 for her and I have my dads old 270 just because.
My middle one is on the other side of the place trying to get his 4th of the year.
Momma wrapping presents.

Back at it this evening after daughter shot that buck this am. Sitting in a tower stand between a swamp and 3 yr old pines. First time sitting here and won’t even shoot unless it’s a wall hanger.
Just sitting here bc my son took his little sister to a stand 600 yds away and I can see them from here.

Yes I am. I’m thankful for my family and the time that I get to spend with them . I am missing those that aren’t here any longer.

Yes, but it’s spotty. Seeing some following, but no full blown chases yet. I’ve gotten some daytime pics of mature bucks pushing does, so the top should blow off soon.
