I tried to wake small balls up for a before school hunt behind the house this morning. Couldn't get him out the bed. So I ease out in the backyard when it got light enough to see, scope the pasture and see a nice 8pt standing about 30 yards from the stand we would be in. I go back inside, rousted him up ,threw some clothes on him and we snuck back out there. Deer is still there but he couldn't get on him free handed in time and he walked off. So he melts down like his mama mad at me for not making him wake up. Good times

He's a shooter, I want my pops to shoot him but I don't think he's gonna. Next time I see him he's gonna get shot.

Damn, I wish I hunted at a place where I could casually pass on a monster like that for someone else. That's a once in a lifetime type deer where I come from.

Big doe down!
35 yard shot and she started moving when I released. Hit her far back but she bled like crazy and only ran 40 yards.

My kids decided it was a good idea to write all our names on the bricks with a sharpie this morning, it became my fault for going hunting.

It'll wash off is apparently the 5 year old gave for how it'll get off the brick.

oh, and while we are on the subject, THREE wildgame innovations feeders are out of commission this morning. Just thought I would mention it.

I'm with you Cro, if I see something I may be too shocked to get the gun up.
Deer have disappeared from feed and cameras since last week. Didn't have time to go to the other end of the lease where they have been seeing them

Yeah no kidding. Center punched the tenderloins unfortunately. But she didn't go far. I hit a little high of where I was aiming, but she moved once I fired so it hit her back too.

Definitely. Thursday I hunted public. Had some guys set up about 500 yards away (mapped it when I got home). They were upwind albeit a light wind. Could hear them talk all morning.

One guy is shooting 2s next time not 4s

Anyone think they're going to move early tomorrow before the heavy stuff sets in for a couple days?
