Looking over a food plot on a pipeline with a .270
Had a doe come out and graze for a few minutes right at daybreak.
Put out a leftover pumpkin pie last night about 100 yards the other direction with a camera aimed at it. We’ll see if they like pie.

Good luck Baws!

They might like the pie but they don’t like pumpkin.

Funky wind early.

Just after daylight I took my calls out and worked a series with an estrous can and grunt. 5 minutes later I hear something directly behind me. Turn around and a nice buck is making a scrape at less than 30 yards. No shot

Slowly he starts towards me and I pick a hole to shoot him at about 10 steps. I needed him to come about 10 more yards. Winded me……

Back in the same stand this afternoon on pipeline. Got down for an hour between 1230 and 130 to use the bathroom and eat a baloney sammich. They were moving good this morning till around 9:30. Between my son and I (he’s about 400 yards down from me) we saw 10 deer, 3 bobcats, and 3 house dogs. Saw a decent 6 point and 2 spikes and the rest does.

Waiting on something bigger this afternoon.

I just learned that foxes like pumpkin pie. I have 2 gray foxes eating the pie I put out.

Slow all morning, then turned on from 11 to 1.

Couple boats out, not many. It's still early
