Chilly wind out of the NW
.308 and a death stare.
No coffee this morning to hopefully eliminate the need for daylight dump.

Must have 10 squirrels running all around me. Nice cardinal just sat on the branch in front of the blind. Wind starting to pickup too.

At least I'm warm

Sittin in a box on a pipeline with a 35 Whelen
Don't need any more meat, just here for the fun and to shut down the camp for the season.

Good luck fellas!

REB Jr says he just heard a turkey gobble over by his stand. Seems a little early in the year.

What do the turkey hunters think? He said he heard some hens clucking too.

Not unusual. I've heard random gobbles during deer season and sitting on the porch in July. But they obviously gobble more, and for different reasons, in the Spring.

ETA: My seat was wet so now I'm cold even with all these clothes.

Thanks guys.

We just started having turkeys the last few years here so I'm not real familiar with their ways.

No sense in having them distract your deer hunting. I'll volunteer to clear some out for you.
