Nice!

I drove back home. Figured I’d sleep in my own bed than a chilly camper when it’s 25 degrees tonight.

quote:

My hunting weekend ended being spent in the Leake County hospital ER all day yesterday, ambulance ride down to Jacksanistan yesterday evening with a really acute case of diverticulitis.

Had that myself and they had me prep for a scope job. By the time I thought I was completely cleaned out I started washing out a few "raisins" that were actually the entrapped manure. By the time they were ready for the scope job the problem was solved.

Nice! And from the look of that rack, he’s been doing some tussling, so maybe another one his size is out there.

Knocked off of work at 3:45, was on the way to a close stand at 4:10. Wife calls and said the dog is stuck between the fence and the shop. I run back home, unstick her, drive a piece of rebar and some chicken wire in the gap, and head back to get my key off the bike and unpin the board. At this point it’s 5, so I drive my trucj though the canefield to another close trail that I can walk to, big tree fell across the road, so I assess and plan the chopping of the tree with my uncle tomorrow evening. It’s about 5:30 now, so I go park my truck on the back corner of the property and wait for the guys to make it out the woods. Took a piss on side my truck on the way to the ice chest to get a cold beverage and see a black spot on the ditch bank about (I’m guessing) 500 yards out. Picked the scope up against the sunset and seen some bone on top, so I do a little 200 yard stalk while my truck is wide open to every single mosquito in south Louisiana. Ranged 411 yards, shot a little back, but my fat arse laying down ain’t too steady, apparently. Dropped him in his tracks.

ETA: PowPow hadn’t shot a deer yet this year, usually he gets 3 or 4. This is his meat.

In nomex When I said we needed more big country’s on here this is why.

I cooked a pastalaya and shot a squirrel, hopefully the one that’s been eating the antlers on the back porch.

That’s awesome. I need to send that to my buddy that takes so many precautions on showering, washing his clothes, spraying, etc.
