Got some shooting in this afternoon anyways , 5 minutes after I get on the stand a bobcat crosses, I squeeze one of on her and I can tell I hit her but she was limping away, got another shot off without the desired effect, went to check it out and had a good blood trail, I could hear her grunting just in the thicket, a take a few steps and she picks up her head and growls at me, I can’t have that so she got a .270 to the face, turns out first shot hit high and clipped her spine, would not of made it , but bullets are cheap

Figured that stand was over
For the evening so hightailed it to my second choice stand, almost sundown so I ain’t expecting much else

Had four long beards step out less than two minutes after my post.
I’ve turkey hunted maybe four times in my life and the last time was over 20 years ago, but I’ve seen as many as 7 long beards and 4 jakes together in the past few weeks.
I think I’ll have to give the turkey hunting a go this spring.

I’m not much of a turkey hunter either. I go just to get in the woods and get my fix. Never killed a turkey but missed one one time

Nice. Always good to make the recovery.

Curious on how you determined him to be 4.5? Do you have some history with him? Not much mass. Not much body size. I would have put him at 2.5.

I ask because i hunt with a friend as a guest sometimes in a high dollar club that is trophy managed. You get 2 trophy deer per membership but unlimited culls. A lot of what they consider culls are damn fine and they only kill 3-4 trophies per yer club wide.

They’ve had him on camera for a year or two. And after the kill chopped his bottom jaw and determined 4.5. Good one to cull out

Pretty morning in Oklahoma today. I had a buddy fly in for the weekend and we did a little hunting. Got 9. Not a lot flying, but we made the most of our opportunities. Always good to share the blind with an old friend.
