Fence row splitting two 5 acre fields

Been a good morning. Started with a 2 ye old 8pt working scrapes on the free line. Then had a 2 yr old 7 push a doe through. Really nice and y’all 3 yr old 8 cruised by at 60 yards. A little while later another 8 showed up and pushed some does and yearlings out that we’re feeding in Cherokee briars

Seen a little fawn come in at 9yds at 8am, that's it.

Rain started at 9. I don't have anything to do until 4 so I'll probably hope it slacks off and sit till noon

Saw LOTS of ducks around White Lake this morning. Mostly teal and ringnecks with a few grey ducks mixed in. Finished with a three man limit.

Sat in some flooded timber I seen holding ducks I ran across last week by a beaver dam on accident. Odd for my area but with all the bad numbers reports I figured I’d try something a little different seemed more promising then anything else I have seen. None of the big ducks materialized maybe they were just resting there the day I found it. Did get my 3 woodies. And noticed that a ton of woodies are roosting there and some are late flighting back in to eat acorns on the high water line. Might bring some friends and scatter out and try again tmrw morning for a woodie smash

You will screw up your spot if you bring friends to blast away. Wood ducks wont hold if you bust the roost a time or 2.

Same stand as this morning, but got my little cousin I brought down with me. Chasing a management buck. He snuck a limit of Sandhills earlier this afternoon in one of our fields, gonna cook them up tonight.

We bought it in ‘99 and have been “managing” it since, high fenced probably 15 years ago. We didn’t really know what we were doing for a pretty good while but have got the hang of it now I think. No strict requirements but we’ll start culling anything under 10 points at 3.5. Slick spikes killed earlier than that. We’ve produced some pretty impressive deer for an all native genetics herd in my opinion.

Where at in SWLA?

I was fortunate enough to hunt grand cote today and we left with a 3 man limit. Saw literally thousands of ducks.
