Looking to get another 100 or so rounds thru my gun but I've never been to a range before. I'm currently looking at either the Jefferson Gun Outlet on Airline in NO or St. Bernard Shooting Center in Arabi. The later one looks like it's not far from a bad area. Any other suggestions?

Precision firearms is the only one I know off in BR. I think the St. Bernard shooting center is supposed to be pretty nice

There is a range in Baker and they actually let you shoot what you want to shoot, not what they want.

Precision in Baton Rouge. It's in the Industriplex right off Airline and Siegen.

I'm sure the Precision haters will be along shortly.

For safety, make sure any firearm is either in a case, or has the action open before you walk in the door.

Use common sense, don't do anything stupid, and you won't have to whine when one of the employees corrects a dangerous action.

ETA: Broke jumped on the hate faster than I could type.
He's still butt hurt because they wouldn't let him shoot his AR-15 pistol on the 25 yard rifle lane.

Precision is run by assholes and douches. I'm also not a huge fan of indoor shooting and you pretty much need a respirator to shoot on their "rifle range".

There is also Nick's in Garyville which may be closer than the 2 you listed.

whats the name of the range in Baker?

Also, never had a problem with precision, besides the one time they told me no concealed carry inside there building.

The older guys that once ran the place are no longer there.
They haven't been there for almost two years.
The new crew is much better with customer service.

I much prefer the Baker gun range over precisions. That's a long haul from n.o though.

Baker gun range, you can switch up rifle/pistol without having to go to another room. It doesn't feel as tight inside too.

All the check points at Bass Pro in Denham is annoying. They have to put safety locks on all your guns at the door entrance.

St. Bernard Indoor isn't in a bad area but you do have to drive through one to get there unless you go all the way around from I-10 to I-510 into Chalmette then into Arabi.

From all I've heard it's a top notch place and run well with good people.

It's called Baker Range. Great range with very nice folks running it and you really can shoot anything in there. Hot as balls though - that little window unit can't keep up

You can avoid the safety locks at Bass Pro if you're just bringing a pistol and you wear your gun in a holster.

I went to a new one on Choctaw in BR a few months back. Was really nice and clean, but I remember it was kinda pricey.

Not sure if it is still operating or it flopped.

A new one just opened about a month ago on or near Choctaw. I can't remember the name but I have heard from multiple people that it is top notch.

My statement was based on my experience with their crew 2 weeks ago. I probably hadn't been in 5 years before that and only went because it was an absolute last resort. They promptly reminded me why I avoid that place.
