I know most big manufacturers probably make this but curious if anyone has experienced good or bad. I’ve shot a colt SMG in 9mm and its a pretty accurate round out to 100 yards although probably has very little punch.

I really like the idea of having a matching combo for self defense and 9mm seems like the most accessible and affordable round to stock pile

I think hi-point carbine uses Glock magazines.

I apologize for giving wrong info here, I've only ever looked at 1 Hi point carbine up close, it was the old model and that was nearly 10 years ago. I was thinking it used the glock mags but that wasn't right.

Ruger 9 mm PC carbine uses Ruger or Glock magazines.I’ve got a severe “itch” to get one myself.I’ve already got. a Beretta CX4 carbine in 9mm so it’s kinda hard to justify another one.

well.
i already had a sig mpx...which sits practically unused(has a binary trigger i'm scared to burn out)
..i picked up a ruger charger primarily because it uses those glock mags...
(i can buy 5 30-round mags for the price of 1 mag for the mpx)

the ruger is noticeably heavier.. but it is a fun gun to shoot and dump some ammo.
it is accurate enough @20 yards(compares favorably to the much more expensive sig)
i love it. (especially at that price point)
i originally ordered a can to use on the mpx.. but i will probably keep it on the modular PC charger (breaks down perfectly.. even with compressor it should still fit in my bug out bag)

Most pistol caliber carbines today are glock mag compatible. I'd start with a Glock 19 or 17 for your handgun. There are a lot of good options out there for the carbine. Really need to know a budget to make a recommendation on that.

Some bad info on this thread. High point takes proprietary mags. So does CZ Scorpion.

Keltec Sub2k comes in various magazine offerings with the Glock being the most popular.

Go back to the 90's the Marlin Camp 9 takes S&W Model 59 Mags and the Camp 45 takes 1911A1 mags. I had a chance to buy a Camp 45 on the cheap a long time ago I wished I had just for the 1911 mag compatibility.

I just got a CMMG Banshee in 10 mm. I love it. They take Glock mags and come in 9 mm also.

I also have s PSA 9 mm and Sub2000 that both shoot well and no complaints. Just depends on how much you want to spend.

Ruger PC carbine gets my vote. It takes down and has a threaded barrel. Can use ruger or glock mags and as of now they make them in 9mm and 40. Price is right too at just under $600. Has more of a traditional rifle feel but shoulders well.

TNW Aero SR. Uses Glock mags.

Round receiver , copy of British Sten

AR stock & buffer.

Uses AR grips.

Barrel unscrews like a Henry survival rifle.

I confess I had no idea that they take mags from different manufacturers. $600 sounds around my price range

I have a Just Right Carbine in .40 that uses same mags as my Glock 22. I’m happy with it.

Has anyone ever used the Mech-Tech carbine with a Glock? I've got multiple Glock pistols in 9mm and might sacrifice one for a carbine conversion. I've already got the Hi-Point carbine in 9mm...wished it used a Glock mag... Might sell the Hi-Point and try the Mech-Tech.

CMMG Banshee with Glock mags is the cadillac setup. Read really good things about the Ruger PC9 and the Extar which both take Glock mags as well.

You are correct, There is a guy who made an adapter for his evo to take Glock mags. But it was a one off. CMMG banshee is the way to go
