I can't figure any reason someone would choose a 243 over it for deer hunting

I don't want to come across as someone saying the .243 is the best deer caliber out there. I use an oddball caliber myself but for deer hunting out to 200 yards I think the other calibers have no advantage over .243 but where the .243 shines is bullet availability. When you travel and hunt and something happens to your ammo and you have to go to a local hardware store and buy bullets they will always have 30-30 30-06 270 and 243. That is worth a lot when you are in a bind.

My bad, I thought you meant you wouldn't let a yute shoot a 7mm-08.
We share the same opinion on the subject.

25-06 by a mile. Hand load that bad boy and tip it with some deep penetration bullets ie Barnes Xbullet ReM Sciroccos or other like ones and you have a 400 yard+ deer slaying machine. 120 grains FTW, I shoot pretty much the same set up in my 270 with 130 grains and have never not had a complete pass thorough. Go and get the 25-06 Ackley improved and then you are talking about one bad arse little terror.

Thing is most people don't load their own rounds(myself included) but I do agree with what you're saying.

If I was a hand loader I'd still be shooting a .25-06

Sweet arse round. Mine just pissed me off a few times (it was the bullets and not the caliber or gun) and I sold it.

Dude who bought it got a damn good deal on it too

Bought a 2 year old tikka T3 for 300 bucks

Even without hand loading the 25-06 are bad arse rounds.

With leupold rings and bases on it too

I wanted a stoeger .410 SxS and they are 300 bucks. I got what I wanted out of it.

I have a bad habit of selling things for less than they are worth because I like getting rid of shite quick.

I'm not one that thinks it takes a bazooka to kill a deer, but in my opinion, there are better options than a 243.

I don't have the patience to argue about it and know that's what you want

There are better options than a lot of things. Saying that has nothing to do with his post or my reaction.

I bought my petite daughter a youth 243 Christmas Eve and she killed her first doe morning after Christmas. It's a nice little gun for her and it's a nice gun for me in a tight spot or stand or when you just want something light to carry. Fun to shoot.

I also shoot a 270 and a 300WSM when I feel the need to enlarge my penis.

Wrong. I have one. I would not buy another, but that has nothing to do with some of what's being posted.
