I guess this property is probably owned by Bayer now. I know Monsanto owned it at one time. Real shame it did not stay in the Hartz family
Supposedly Bayer is not big on the hunting/socializing aspect of business and might be looking to sell it soon.

I would choose the entire Mollicy Unit of Upper Ouachita. It's close and always haves birds on it.

Been going to Meadown Lake area for about 8 years now. Saskatoon to North Battlefield then straight north for an hour and half to the town of Meadow Lake. Town is a real dump but some of the best duck shooting and goose hunting in the world in my opinion in this area. Not really duck hunting...

As for OP question I would pick Missouri for consistency. I have hunted Texas and West Louisiana all my life. When it is good it is great. When it is bad... it is just flat bad.

Greenbriar Duck Club (formally the Olin Duck Club) a.k.a., the Old Winchester Club. Roughly 1900 acres of duck hunting history and heaven. None other compares.

All you fools wanting marsh property have lost yalls minds or never hunted anything else.

Correct. Never hunted dry corn fields, flooded corn fields, or flooded timber adjacent to corn fields. Tried in Yancey I think 6 times over the past 3 years and have 6 ducks total. Went with people that have lit them up in many different places there, so it's not like it was pick the closest spot and hunt either.

give me boeuf wma flooded timber and fields
would leave a big sanctuary in the middle of the flooded timber and a big sanctuary with unharvested corn in the fields and only hunt
hunt the fields in the nasty weather and the timber on the sunshine days
would rotate the pressure in each section and the last weekend of each split you would be allowed to hunt the sanctuaries

I just tallied it up, I've hunted 20 states, 3 provinces, and mexico, my buddy asked me yesterday what I would shoot if I could only every shoot one species again, he saw me start to think about my answer then he prefaced it by saying "it can't be divers", discussion occurred over dead mallards in waist deep timber. I can hardly think of a more boring duck than a mallard.

It's less about the ducks you shoot and more about the difficulty of getting around, tides, etc.

I just like being able to watch birds work, and often with mallards in timber you dont get that opportunity.
I hunt a big flooded bottom off a river that is a sea of cattails with pockets of open water. What I love hunting there is two fold:
1 you never know what you're going to shoot in there. Mallards, grays, teal, Canada geese, wigeon, redheads, cans, divers, woodies early season, etc....
Secondly what I love is that it's a pretty big area so you see the birds from a ways off and get to watch them work.
Dont get me wrong, I love mallards sitting on you in timber, but watching them work in from a quarter of a mile away as they cup and circle and call and then finally decide to land is WAY more enjoyable to me and why i think people like hunting the marsh.
