This is the only way I ever knew it to be done growing up. Do that and they won't be tough.

Was always told you had to boil it first. Only wild game in the South East I haven’t wasted yet. (Well, opossum too but frick that)

Dude, dont kill opossums. They are tick destroyers.

Opossums and king snakes always get a pass.

But I think I would shoot a hog off the highway, at night, with a game warden and state trooper riding in the truck with me. I hate those field\road destroying bastards.

It’s not like squirrel is thick meat why does it matter if it’s a little tough? If it’s like jerky you are massively overcooking it. I grill squirrel routinely and it’s really not a whole lot different then dark chicken. Again similar to duck, overcooked it’s tough as leather but cooked right it’s not bad at all.

Wild game is not supposed to be tender like farm raised beef or pork. I don’t really have a problem with that though?

I love ducks, but you can ruin them quickly by overcooking.

It easily can be. Most folks just don't know much about cooking, aside from batter/fry or grilling it to overcooked.

MFers will smoke a hunk of cheap arse pork for 14hrs, while drinking 672 beers, but squirrels take too much time?

You ever braised shanks or front shoulders?

Can cook a lot of things to tender.

With the help of a pressure cooker, maybe. You’re not throwing fox squirrels on a grill for 3 or 4 hours and getting them tender. It’s physics

Sure. You can make an old tractor tire tender with enough bloop bloop in a black pot, which is why its the proper way to cook wild game.

Oven at 300 with plenty of butter. They only take longer on my smoker because I put them at a lower temp for a few hours to get more smoke.

I'm amazed at how many people on this board have no idea how to cook

The grill in this case is just the heating element and the meat is being cooked in butter at a slow temp.

He’s not grilling them.

Go put something in a crock pot or fry it. Sounds like that's all you're good at.
