Damn that is cool looking! I guess I should've known someone out there made a lightweight version. I'm quite happy with my Cryptic BCG but might snag one of those down the road.

I run the VMOS in my 6.5 Creedmoor because I don't have a tunable gas block. it's quite an impressive piece of hardware

What about 300 black out SBR suppressed? That’s what we run for thermal hunting for hogs. Lightweight (which is key), easy on the ears, and the caliber is fine for the effective thermal range.

What subsonic round are you shooting hogs? I wouldn’t think they would be effective past 75 yds.

We don’t shoot subsonic. We shoot supersonic when hunting hogs. In fact, I don’t have any subsonic ammo.

If you’re shooting over 250 yards the 6.5 Creedmore is the way to go. The bullit has a proven flight trajectory-awesome gun for longer distances. If you get a good sound suppressor on the gun you can pick off the hogs and they won’t scatter. Anything under 250yds it doesn’t really matter-any of those calibers would take them out.

Its not as well suited as .308 for killing things at long range.

300 BLK supersonic is decent and comparable to 7.62x39. It’ll do the job but not with as much thump as a 308. I guess the question would be whether or not the jump to the heavier AR10 is worth it for the extra power.

I don’t think the extra weight is worth the extra thump (at long ranges). Most of your thermal shots are going to be well within 100 yards.

When Bobby Baccalieri gave Tony Soprano an AR-10, Tony blasted it full-auto, and it didn't even kick.

Neither one used hearing protection either, so it must be both low recoil and quiet.

They should list those features in the advertisements.

I have a 6.8 spc that I love for hogs. Almost went with the 6.5 Grendel when I had it built. Can't go wrong with either for hogs.

Definitely not the .308. That was what made me look around to begin with. Very little recoil with 6.8.
