Not bad at all. Was hammering the fish down in pac yesterday. I'm taking the hook out of a sheephead and it jabs me in the thumb. Not bad. Just so happens I had an open wound already close to where this happened. Yesterday it was a little tender. Today my thumb is swollen like a summbitch. I figured it's infected. The strange part. There is no cut where I was hooked. Just a red streak under the skin. Nealsporin aint doing shite. Should I cut it off and start collecting disability?

I wouldn't go to the trouble, sounds like it's about to fall off on its own.

Well there's your problem. Have you tried neosporin?

Yeah might want to pay the co-pay and get some antibiotics and call it a day boss.

Unless you like having 8 fingers and 1 thumb. Missing a fanger is one thing but missing that opposable thumb might be a deal breaker.

I'm not saying you got vibrio, but that's how people get vibrio.

Make an appointment with the doctor. They'll give you pills and a steroid shite and you'll be able to cast with that hand in the future.

No, but you should see a Dr as soon as possible, like right now. Your body is fighting an infection. It may win, or it may not and the infection will spread causing significant and unnecessary tissue damage along the way. There are many things that a Dr can do to put the odds in favor of your body.

Please get it looked at.

Okuma trios and all stars baw. If it's worse tomorrow I'll go. The swelling is down a bit today. I'm gonna stab it open later and drown it with peroxide.

Comes on message board full of outdoor types to ask opinion on what could be a nasty infection from an area known for nasty infections. Does the exact opposite of what everyone says even after being given examples of really bad shite happening from said infections. Deserves what he gets.

I work in the ER, and you definitely need to get that checked out.

Yeah, you need to get to an ER right away. That's serious! They'll probably give you a couple of shots and cut it open to clean out then pack with gauze. Red steak is a serious infection. Probably get a couple of prescriptions too.

Got stuck by a catfish once and had a red streak going from my hand all the way up my arm, damn near up to my shoulder. According to the dr, the red streak ain't nothing to mess with. I'd go give your doctor a visit.

In my experience, jamming the infected thumb into an a-hole helps.

So much hate for Sheephead.

I started keeping them last year and in my opinion, they beat the shite out of a trout. I pretty much broil all my fish and Sheephead holds up and turns out way better than specks.
