I got buddies down here in SE GA with some hounds that would love to chase his big arse and pop his head with a .22

Good time, coon hunting. The dogs make the hunt. Around here the raccoons will always buy the raccoons. Normally $15-20 per. I made lots of gas and beer money off of coons and squirrels when I was in high school and college!

Shat, I wish! Ive killed about 15-20 in the past month!

I live all the way on the edge of subdivision that is bordered by a big swamp. I feed the deer in the back yard and I swear every coon within a 5 mile radius comes for the free food!

I actually had some cuttings from a chicken in there (raw skin and shat). I wired that can down to the bottom of the cage and just use it for a bait holder. I have caught them on tunafish before though...and cat food...and dog food, and sardines, and smoked oysters...and just about everything I ever put in there really.

All of the coons around here are worthless scavengers! All they do is go around and look for handouts.

Yep, they sure do love that dried cat food. Can't even raise garden corn here anymore on account of the coons gettin most of it, so I started trappin em out with that same kind of live trap baited with dried cat food or sardines. Caught eleven of em before I caught my first polecat. That broke me of suckin eggs. I just quit raisin garden corn. Don't want no more of them polecats in a trap...

Polecat in trap ='s 22 from about 50 yards away.

Then when he is good and dead...you can go get the trap and dump it without getting sprayed. Still stanks having to deal with it. But it is much better than trying to mess with a live polecat in a trap!

This is why, when we plant sweet corn, we don't put it near a highly traveled road.

You can sneak up on em if you're hidin behind a big blanket or a big piece of black plastic and they won't get too skittish. But when you position your coon trap between the corn rows, there ain't no way to sneak up on em without makin enough racket to set em off, if you know what I mean. It's a long story, but I finally got him outta that trap without settin off a big stink. Just for yall's future reference: NEVER set a live trap for coons between dried corn rows, especially if those corn rows are 50 feet from your back door.
